Fall Lawn Repair Season is just around the corner!

Most people concentrate on the Spring and Summer to establish their lawn but in our area, that is the wrong time to spend your money and efforts!  By the time you have any new grass in the spring, the summer hot season is upon us and the tender shoots of grass just wither and die.  This is especially true if we have little or no rain.  This year we had just enough rain to cause a bad case of "Brown Spot" on our lawns and most of us have a mess where a beautiful spring lawn used to be.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 11 at 9:00 am for a FREE Workshop on Lawn Rehabilitation & Aeration, Fertilizing and Seeding.  What is better yet, everything you will need is available and it is all ORGANIC!  Door prises and drinks will be available to attendees and a Grand Prize of 1 Year's worth of Organic Fertilizer will be given away.  You must however, sign up in advance via email (info@seaboardace.com) , call the store (919-834-8600) or sign up at the store during your next visit.  We need to know how many will be there so we can have enough materials available for everyone.

See you Saturday, September 11th at 9:00 am and learn all about Organic Lawn Care!

Recycling CFL bulbs

We have been asked about recycling CFL bulbs and flourescent bulbs in general.  At the moment the only resource that we are aware of for recycling CFL’s is The Home Depot or The North Wake Hazardous Waste Center off Durant Road. ACE is working on a way for each of our stores to send spent fluorescents back to our warehouse weekly for them to recycle.  Right now that operation is not in place, mainly because of a viable system for protecting the bulbs during transport.

When we have the ability to recycle flourescents, we will post it here and in the store.

Fall planting season is upon us!

Well everyone, looks like the fall planting season is upon us! Now is the time to overseed your yard to establish a beautiful lawn next spring. From now through most of October is the perfect time to seed, fertilize and if needed, put down lime to correct the pH level of your soil. We have a variety of fertilizers available to suit most conditions as well as many different turf gass seed types. Bring in a small sample of your soil (about 1/2 pint) and we will test the pH for free.
